Tide Search is a browser hijacker program from the family that hijacks your browser's default search engine and installs addons and extensions that inject advertisements in web pages and search results. Tide Search is able to do this through browser addons and extensions that allow it to inject advertisements into the search results on search engines such as Google and Yahoo. When the extension is installed, it will also display its own Tide Search page instead of your default home page.

Tide Search is a browser hijacker program from the Adware.BrowseFox family that hijacks your browser's default search engine and installs addons and extensions that inject advertisements in web pages and search results. Tide Search is able to do this through browser addons and extensions that allow it to inject advertisements into the search results on search engines such as Google and Yahoo. When the extension is installed, it will also display its own Tide Search page instead of your default home page.
When Tide Search displays advertisements it will either display them in search result pages or by opening up popups or other windows. When displaying the advertisements they will be labeled Tide Search Ads or Related Search by Tide Search. The ads that will be shown are based on the content of the page or the search query you entered.
Tide Search will also modify the default search provider of your browser so that it first connects search.tidesearch.net, which then redirects you to Yahoo or search.us.com where it will display its ads. Last, but not least, this hijacker will install a browser search button that when clicked on allows you to search using the tidesearch.net site.
It is important to note that the Tide Search is bundled with and installed by free programs that did not adequately disclose that other software would be installed along with it. Therefore, it is important that you pay close attention to license agreements and installation screens when installing anything off of the Internet. If an installation screen offers youÂ*CustomÂ*orÂ*AdvancedÂ*installation options, it is a good idea to select these as they will typically disclose what other 3rd party software will also be installed. Furthermore, If the license agreement or installation screens state that they are going to install a toolbar or other unwanted adware, it is advised that you immediately cancel the install and not use the free software.
In my opinion, the Tide Search program was only created to generate revenue for the developer by displaying advertisements. It does not appear to provide any extra benefit other than to show you more advertisements in search engines and web sites. Please use this guide to remove all remnants of the Tide Search hijacker and any other related programs for free.
