The 9o0gle.com Browser Hijacker is a browser hijacker from the Adware/ShortcutHijacker family that changes the home page of your installed browsers to 9o0gle.com. It does this by modifying the shortcuts for all of your installed browsers, so that if you click on them, they will automatically open the 9o0gle.com home page.
Unfortunately, rather than installing a program that infects your shortcuts, it installs a special VBScript into Windows Management Instrumentations (WMI) that performs this task. Since there are no programs installed on the victim's computer, security programs may detect the infected shortcuts, but will not be able to properly remove the WMI script. Therefore, a user will clean the shortcuts and later find that they are reinfected again.
When 9o0gle.com is installed it will only target the shortcuts of certain web browser. The targeted web browsers are listed below:
    Internet Explorer Chrome Firefox
    360 Chrome Sogou Explorer Opera
    Safari Maxthon QQ Browser
    Baidu Browser TheWorld Browser Liebao
    Tencent Traveler
How did the 9o0gle.com hijacker get on my computer?

This program is installed via downloaders found on video and file sharing sites. These sites will offer free videos or downloads, but in reality install the 9o0gle.com hijacker on your computer. Therefore, it is important that you pay attention to the license agreements and installation screens when installing anything off of the Internet. If an installation screen offers you Custom or Advanced installation options, it is a good idea to select these as they will typically disclose what other 3rd party software will also be installed. Furthermore, If the license agreement or installation screens state that they are going to install a toolbar or other unwanted adware, it is advised that you cancel the install and not use the free software.
In my opinion, the www.9o0gle.com browser hijacker was purposely created to make it difficult to remove so that you continue to utilize their home page. In my opinion, you should uninstall this program if you discover the symptoms listed above so that your computer and browsers can run properly again. To remove the www.9o0gle.com Browser Hijacker and clean the affected shortcuts, please use the removal guide below.
