Online Video Promoter, otherwise known as WinPL.exe or Media Player by eLink Industry Inc, is a portentially unwanted program, or PUP, that is commonly bundled with other downloads. When installed, you will notice numerous instances of the winpl.exe process running in your task manager that are constantly making Internet connections to the funwithvids.com site. This winpl.exe process is in fact watching the videos, and the ads that go along with them, but is not displaying them to the screen. Whether this process is to increase view counts on the videos or to generate ad revenue is currently unknown. What is known, though, is that this PUP is utilizing a large amount of bandwidth and system resources in order to render the videos in the background. Due to this you would notice that the Internet or computer feels slower than normal as its resources are being used by this PUP.
