Media Dashboard v2, otherwise known as it's filename stdrt.exe, is a potentially unwanted program, or PUP, that is commonly bundled with other downloads. When installed, you will notice that your computer becomes slow, your hard drive is constantly active, and that you have less computer memory then normal. Task Manager will also display a program called stdrt.exe that is using up a great deal of CPU power. This is because the stdrt.exe is constantly running in the background while viewing videos from sites like dailymotion and others. These videos, though, are never displayed to the screen. Whether this process is being used to increase view counts on the videos or to generate ad revenue is currently unknown. What we do know, though, is that this program is using up valuable resources on your computer without permission, which causes your computer to become slower than normal and to use up your Internet bandwidth.
