TOPFlix is a adware program from the Adware.CloudGuard family that injects unwanted advertisements on web sites that you visit and in search result pages. TOPFlix claims that it will "Using our DNS service, you can access U.S. restricted content." I could not confirm if this was true, but in my testing this program contrinuously opened unwanted advertisements that made it difficult to browse the web or read content on web pages.
TOPFlix ads Removal Guide
TOPFlix is a adware program from the Adware.CloudGuard family that injects unwanted advertisements on web sites that you visit and in search result pages. I could not confirm if this was true, but in my testing this program contrinuously opened unwanted advertisements that made it difficult to browse the web or read content on web pages.
While browsing the web, TOPFlix will open new tabs in your browser that display intrusive and unwanted advertisements. Many of the advertisements that are shown are for remote tech support scams or other adware. When displaying these advertisements they will be labeled TOPFlix Ads, Ads by TOPFlix, Ad by TOPFlix, or Powered by and will be shown on any web site you visit, regardless of whether that site normally displays ads. TOPFlix will also display advertisements in search engine result pages that will be labeled RocketTab powered by TOPFlix. This adware program will also change your computer's assigned DNS servers to ones under it's control in order to supposedly allow you to bypass blocked websites. This also enables TOPFlix to track all Internet connections that you make and keep track of what web sites you are visiting.
TOPFlix starts automatically on your computer through the use of a scheduled task called DNSKINSALE. This task will start TOPFlix when your computer boots up, when you login, at certain times during the day, and when your computer becomes idle. Therefore even if you exit out of TOPFlix, the scheduled task will turn it back on at another time without your permission. Furthermore, TOPFlix changes your computer's DNS servers to ones under their own control. This allows them to not only monitor what sites you are visiting, but to also replace requests from legitimate ad servers with their own ad servers. The DNS servers that TOPFlix uses are 82.163.143.153 and 82.163.142.155. These DNS servers are one of the main reasons that people find it difficult to disable TOPFlix ads from displaying on their browser. This is because if you uninstall the TOPFlix program, but do not disable their DNS servers, they will continue to hijack ads and display ones of their own choosing.
In my opinion, TOPFlix was created solely to display advertisements on web sites that you visit without providing any extra benefit to the user. In addition, by changing your DNS servers from their legitimate settings to ones under TOPFlix's control, I found it makes it difficult for computer users to uninstall this software.
