Inetstat, otherwise known as Interstat, is a potentially unwanted program that can inject advertisements into web sites that you are viewing. For example, InterStat may display InterStat and/or third party paid advertisements and/or other information adjacent to or included with the Services and adjacent to or in connection with Your Content, and you agree that you are not entitled to any compensation for any such advertisements. The manner, mode and extent of advertising or other revenue generating models pursued by InterStat on or in conjunction with the Services and/or Your Content are subject to change without specific notice to you.
Links to Third Party Sites.The Services and Materials may include links that will take you to other sites outside of the Services ("Linked Sites"). The Linked Sites are provided by InterStat to you as a convenience and the inclusion of the links does not imply any endorsement by InterStat of any Linked Site. How did Inetstat get on my computer?
It is important to note that the Inetstat is bundled with and installed by free programs that did not adequately disclose that other software would be installed along with it. Therefore, it is important that you pay close attention to license agreements and installation screens when installing anything off of the Internet. If an installation screen offers youÂ*CustomÂ*orÂ*AdvancedÂ*installation options, it is a good idea to select these as they will typically disclose what other 3rd party software will also be installed. Furthermore, If the license agreement or installation screens state that they are going to install a toolbar or other unwanted adware, it is advised that you immediately cancel the install and not use the free software.
Though Inetstat does monitor your bandwidth usage, I feel that it's main purpose is to generate revenue for the developers by displaying advertisements. If you find these advertisements annoying or intrusive, then you may want to use this guide to remove all remnants of the Inetstat adware and any other related programs for free.
