Network packet analyzer or Online Ad Scanner are the names for the same potentially unwanted program, or PUP, that is installed by free software you download from the Internet. When installed, this program will configure itself to automatically start when you login to Windows. Once running, Network Packet Analyzer will run in the background and constantly connect to various sites on the Internet. When it connects to the site, it will actually play the videos and advertisements found on the web page, but will do so in the background so that you do not see them on your screen. This constant downloading of web pages does nothing but slow down your computer and your Internet connection while providing no benefit to the user of the computer.
